Hi! My name is Katy, and I’m obsessed with Music Supervision.
Katy McIlvaine (mac-ul-vane) is a Los Angeles-based Music Supervisor with over 10 years of industry experience. Katy supervises under her company Alphabet Supe and is the owner of Dawn Patrol Music catalog.
Katy started down this career path one night during high school in Madison, WI. Having grown up playing piano and percussion - but dreading performing - she was up late listening to Modest Mouse and decided working behind the scenes in music business would be the perfect fit!
Katy started in music supervision working on trailers at mOcean, and then moved to the studio music side at Warner Bros. TV before jumping into the freelance world. First as a coordinator under Jen Ross with Format Entertainment and then on her own, launching Alphabet Supe.
Katy loves the creative process of finding music for scenes, while the clearance work let’s her live out her inner-detective.
